What is The Most Cost Efficient Way to get Started Online?
If you don’t have a big reserve of money to draw from to start you business, how can you get started, bring in revenue without paying an arm and a leg? This is a question I’m often asked and I have experienced this myself starting my own business.
Everyone’s situation is different, so there is no easy answer or clear cut method. In this article I will give you insights and ideas as I built my business when I was deep in student debt.
Coming from just graduating university, I didn’t have any money, contacts or experience marketing products. When I am in a desperate situation, that is when I become the most creative. My situation left me desperate, which gave my a huge opportunity to be extremely creative. This is exactly what I encourage you to tap into.
Finding creative ways to get people’s attention is something you have to do when you are just getting started. You also have to find creative ways to build relationships. Creating products and ways to market those products are also other avenues in which you will have to be creative.
Building momentum from your creativity is the key to this scenario. When you are first starting out you have to really think about what is the most important aspect to you at that time. Generating revenue? Building a list? Creating and marketing your products?
At this particular time in your career you really need to get focused on what is important to you and maximize your creativity to its full extent. When I first started out, was generating revenue important? Yes, of course, but I also knew building a long term profitable business was more important.
I was willing to sacrifice early profits for long-term gains and the way I did that was I gave a lot of my time in exchange for products, in exchange for services, in exchange for JV opportunities, in exchange for all kinds of thing.
I was volunteering my time. I was doing all kinds of things like volunteering at events. I was doing marketing for people. I was writing for people. I was doing anything that I could to build relationships with key people and utilizing what I have available to me and that was time.
Of course the beginning is going to be a little bit harder and you will have to strain your creative juices, but when you really focus down on what you want, you can use that creativity to get what you want.
Otherwise, you are just going to be spinning in circles. I want to encourage you when you are starting out to get very clear on what it is that you are looking to do. Are you looking to generate revenue? If so, then you need to find creative ways to generate revenue in a short period of time.
If you are not so much concerned about generating revenue immediately but you are more interested in developing relationships for long-term profitability, then you want to focus on creative ways to connect with people, to build those relationships and to get to know others.
It all comes down to figuring out what you should be focusing on right now. Building your list, may be your priority. If so, set your attention on that and find creative ways to build your list.
Starting off, get extremely clear on what it is you are looking for. Next, tap into your creativity, especially if you don’t have any money available, because that is not an excuse to quit or not do as well. It is always just a matter of finding the solution to your problem and with a little creativity you can really accomplish what you want to do.
